The Communicable Disease Prevention and Control program is composed of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control, Immunizations (Immunizations, Rabies Control, and Refugee Health), Tuberculosis (TB) Control, and the Adult Health HIV/STD Clinic.
The primary purpose of the Communicable Disease program is to:
· Conduct thorough reporting and investigation of all reports of communicable disease (including outbreaks)
· Promptly implement communicable disease control measures when needed

· Ensure compliance with North Carolina communicable disease statutes and rules through implementation of appropriate control measures
· Educate healthcare providers, facilities, organizations, and others regarding all aspects of communicable disease, in order to ensure and protect the health of the community.
