Rachael Elledge, Clinical Nutrition Program Manager
MS, RD, LDN, CDE
Rachael holds a Masters of Nutrition Science degree from Clemson University and an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She has been on the DCoDPH Clinical Nutrition team since 2008. In her role as manager of clinical nutrition services at DCoDPH, Rachael ensures optimum clinic service delivery. Her areas of expertise include staff management, quality assurance, and nutrition services billing. Outside of work, Rachael enjoys active living and travel.
Patrice Carr, Nutrition Specialist
MS, RD, LDN
Patrice received her undergraduate degree in Restaurant and Institution Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed her Masters of Foods and Nutrition and Dietetic Internship from North Carolina Central University.
Prior to joining Durham County Department of Public Health, Patrice worked as a Nutrition Program Consultant for the Child and Adult Care Food Program and a Region Dietitian for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. In her spare time Patrice is a member of a dance group and enjoys being a Cheer Mom for her daughter. Patrice loves getting people excited about nutrition by helping them to enjoy their food and eat in moderation.
Jennifer Russ MorwickNutrition Specialist
MS, RD, LDN, CDE
Jennifer holds a master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Vermont and a bachelor’s degree in biology from North Carolina State University.
Jen joined the Clinical Nutrition team immediately upon completion of her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1998. As a Certified Diabetes Educator, her passion is empowering individuals living with diabetes in their journey toward health and wellbeing. When she isn’t at work, Jen can be found dancing to live music with her husband, taxiing her teenage boys from one event to another, or being walked by her beagle, Duke.
Christy O'ConnorPediatric Nutritionist
MS, RD, LDN
Christy is a pediatric dietitian at the Durham County Department of Public Health.
She completed her graduate degree in nutrition at UNC-Greensboro and her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from NC State. Christy has experience working with both the pediatric population in WIC and with adults living with type 2 diabetes. Christy enjoys building a relationship with her families and helping her patients achieve their specific health goals. In her spare time, Christy enjoys spending time with her two young children, Liam and Emma.
Becky PosadaNutrition Specialist
RD, LDN, CDE
Becky completed her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at California State University, Long Beach. She has worked in the clinical setting, in private practice, and in the community, teaching nutrition to children in Durham Public Schools.
She currently works in the Outpatient Clinic where she has the privilege of counseling Spanish-speaking clients. Her patients inspire her, and their stories pull at her heartstrings. They are comfortable with alternative therapies and have challenged her to become certified in Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy. Becky hopes to use this certification to help her patients realize the power they have to restore health and wellness through a diet of real, unprocessed whole foods and lifestyle changes. In her spare time, Becky loves to run, bike and travel, dabble in essential oils and lead a Bible study at her church. Her Colombian husband of 30 years and 2 children fill her life with joy!
